Build Day 20

Mr Builder is back from his holiday, so work can recommence! Alas, his plane was delayed and so Tuesday was also a right-off. So here we are, on Wednesday, picking up from where we left off.

So yesterday the flooring materials arrived - massive slabs of polystyrene! There was some stone and lots of plastic pipes.

Today it became apparent where all that pipe was going. Not only were they replacing the ceramic drain but they also needed to circumnavigate the extension to funnel rainwater into the drain too.

There was a brief period where there was no drain pipe - just a trench between the two disconnected ends. The second-born chose that exact moment to have a poo and flush the toilet. As sure as night follows day, that turd made its way into the trench. Only it didn't continue, it just got stuck there.

I then watched as the guys fitted the new pipe, squishing her turd in the process. So a little bit of her will now forever be beneath the kitchen floor.

Where's my facepalm emoji when I need it?!

So yeah, that was Wednesday. Apologies for the lack of pictures. Though given the circumstances, that's probably a blessing!
