Short day today. Just finished off the excavation.
The pool of grey water at the other end of the trench is, we believe, from next door. Probably (hopefully) as simple as some leaves over the drain cover and so water flows under their decking and into our garden. We've spoken about it once so we'll have to talk about it again. Hopefully this can be resolved simply and without drama.
That's it for a few days now. Next update should be Monday.
