Got to the tip 5 minutes late. I then speed-unloaded the car. I was disposing of the old interior doors and the packaging from all the new appliances. I left 10 minutes later, bang on when my slot was over. As I drove away, I noticed that I'd bashed the cuticle of my right thumb and I had been leaking blood. Still no idea how I'd done it but the hasty rushing probably had a lot to do with it.
Did a quick inspection of the garden and noticed more breeze blocks and piles of cement attempting to hide. I'll do a proper audit, gather it all together and take a picture for you, one day. You know, when I'm not decorating / fitting 4 rooms simultaneously!
Back in the house I cleared out the remnants of the box room, ready to relay the carpet in there.
After lunch, Dad arrived and we did some electrical prep work in the kitchen. We cut holes for the oven plug sockets (one in each corner cupboard) and the isolation switch for the hob.
The picture above is of the right-hand cupboard. It wasn't until we did the left-hand cupboard that I started to worry that the isolation switch is in the wrong cupboard. It's not the end of the world, all it needs is that circular hole drilling in the other cupboard.
I now need to get in touch with the electrician and see if he's happy to finish the installation before the worktops arrive.
That's it for today. I was going to carry on after tea; laying carpet in the box room and sanding the last doorframe in the loft. But I've strained a muscle in my neck and moving is painful so I'm going to rest tonight and see how I feel tomorrow.
