Loft bedroom decorating, episode 3

The kitchen is waiting on parts (i.e. the worktops and key appliances) so Dad and I concentrated on making progress upstairs.

The weekend is a bit of a blur to be honest, but I'll do my best to retell the shenanigans:

Saturday

In the firstborn's room, the mist-coat of paint was finished along the ceiling and the edges filled in.

Meanwhile, over in the other bedroom, some more mist-coat was applied.

An unfortunate amount of time was spent on a supply run to get more paint and wood filler. So most of the work was just Dad on his own.

Sunday

Back to it the next day and we hit it hard.

While I painted the smaller room, Dad went around both rooms knocking the nails further into the woodwork. He had to do this because some of the nails were still protruding. Once actually fully embedded in the wood, he filled the holes with wood-filler.

Dad did the edges in the small room while I moved on to the ceiling in the large room, giving it it's mist-coat. I then continued rolling over the rest of the walls.

Downstairs, Tracy has been busy too. She does so love rearranging things and now she's rescued the kitchen table and made space for the Christmas tree! She also found mould on the window sills but that's probably just condensation on the underneath of cardboard boxes.

She also reused the dismantled sides of the broken cabinet to act as a temporary worktop. Now the kitchen looks even more like an actual usable real-life kitchen!

I had intended to sit and buy appliances and worktops but by this point it was almost 9pm. So I took pity on my aching body and called it a day.
