Kitchen Assemblage Day 12

Well today just decided it was going to try and stop me from getting anything done. Did I let that stop me? Not a chance...

First of all I needed to work out how much wood stain and varnish to buy. This being me, I did some overly complicated maths that I'd like to share with you:

Next I went to purchase the aforementioned wood stain and varnish. There was a bit of a queue but someone in management must have hit a panic button as at least 6 staff members suddenly turned up (usually just one or two there) and others came long after everyone had been served.

Back home, I sanded down one of the doors, ready for staining. I decided to apply the stain by cloth rather than by brush which turned out to work really well.

Of course it looks nothing like the test I did, but I think it still works. Here's a couple of the many pictures Tracy took of me:

And here are before and after pictures:

I only managed to get one coat on one door today but a lot of time went on setting up the workspace. So I'm hopeful for more progress tomorrow (I've taken the week off work so that I'm ready for the kitchen to arrive).
