Build Day 45

Today was an expensive day. But let's not worry about that, let's look at what else has gone on today...

I saw lots of stuff flying past the window again. Turns out that they've been busy clearing out the crap between the beams that will become the floor. I was going to describe it as clearing out the old insulation but it was 80% dust / rubble, 20% antique insulation. It's of no surprise that the removal of the meager bit of insulation has made no difference to the temperature of the house. Only difference is I can now here the plastic covers blowing!

There was some other activity - more of the brickwork for the gable end (i.e. triangular bit of brick) was completed. The landing window opening is now fully formed.

Also, as I poked my head through the loft hatch I noticed that there was a mystery hole which seemed to descend on top of a bedroom door. Very odd, but you know how I love a mystery hole...

The builders worked until it was getting dark so I didn't get a shot of the outside.

What I did manage to do, however, was buy the door for between the living room / kitchen and buy the kitchen units (excluding worktops).

Then I needed cheering up so we watched the new LotR series. Really enjoyed the latest episode even if there was a lack of Lenny Henry in it.

Oh and we moved the car tonight in advance of a delivery in the morning. Conflict avoidance at it's best there. Not that there's much space left on the drive!
