Well today felt very productive!
Obtained a tile cutter. Shopping around saved me £20! It was then put through its paces on all the edge tiles for the new kitchen. However, it wasn't me operating it - Dad was very kindly doing that. I was just laying the tiles.
Thanks to him, most of the tiles are now down. You can see where the walls aren't straight now. Hopefully this won't cause issues when fitting the cabinets. There were therefore some very bespoke shapes of tile that needed making with the tile file. The tile by the back door had to be done with a tile saw, but that was hard work and the saw couldn't handle the pressure so this will need to be finished tomorrow.
I also filled in the gap between the floor and the back door. I just used the tile adhesive as it's only to provide a little support once the tiles are fitted.
I was going to do the same in the doorway to the living room but after talking it over, I've decided to leave it until we know how the door needs to fit. This will determine just how much floor needs to be created.
