I was in two minds whether to class today as a build day. As you can see from the existence of this post, I did decide to include it. Because building isn't just about making big things happen, it's also a logistical ballet.
Which would probably go some way to explaining why I suddenly find myself surrounded by wood, roof tiles, other tiles (presumably for the side of the dormer) and a radiator in a box.
There's some coverings been put on to the dormer but that's all the visible progress I spotted.
Examining my personal stock yard, the roof tiles appear to have been expertly matched to the ones next door. I'm excited to see them on - hopefully it'll end up looking like always had a dormer (or at least not like a shoebox got dumped on the roof).
Yesterday I forgot to mention that the electrician came over to fix the one plug socket that wasn't working after changing the fuse box. All that was needed was to wriggle some cables a bit (I'm paraphrasing but you get what I mean). Shame to have him come all this way for that but at least I can use my desk again. Though I am going to have to extricate it from the clutter that seems to build up in any space left vacant for more than 5 minutes.
I've had some kind offers of tile cutting tools. With any luck, that'll get the tiling process back on track!
I'm conscious I'm doing a lot of writing so I'll bring this wall of text to a close with the one picture that I have from today...
