Taking Back The Garden - The Continuing Adventures

Reinforcements Arrived!

Two very kind parents descended upon our back garden to exact revenge on the brambles that had, so far, been attacking their grand children with impunity.

Demonstrating how woefully out of shape I am, they treated all 200m² of the grass to a thorough raking and a good cut; getting rid of decades of detritus. The raking alone filled one of those massive bags you get sand delivered in from the builder's merchant!

By the end, the grass was looking really thin - particularly at the back of the garden which clearly wasn't originally lawn - just grown-over garden. Probably more slabs hiding under the grass.

Then, as if that wasn't enough work for one month, they came back for more the next day - cutting back the overgrown mess that had developed around some trellis toward the back of the garden.

Just that last bit of wilderness to tackle on the other side of the trellis but we'll get there. Rome wasn't built in a day.
