Weekend Update

Saturday morning was taken up by taking the kids to Rush. The secondborn had been invited to a party and the firstborn tagged along to do her own bouncing (she soon wanted to gatecrash the party but she resisted the urge). Then we went out for food. Then it was 6pm all of a sudden.

Sunday wasn't much better. I started researching plumbing bits and pieces with the intention of getting water and waste pipes connected up. Tracy went out shopping, and I ended up playing board games with the kids.

Tracy returned and was annoyed with our tumble dryer. It keeps on stopping; complaining that the water tank is full. Turns out this is a common fault with this model so we're sending it back.

With the next schoolday fast approaching, Tracy went on a wild goose chase across the city to obtain a heated clothes rack and a dehumidifier. The clothes rack was not performing at the necessary pace so we'll be returning the dehumidifier and getting a new dryer. This time, one that doesn't have a list of known issues.

At some point in this crazy day, the secondborn made me make bath bombs with her. Genuinely no idea what part of the day that occurred at but I know it happened because I just cleaned up the mess.

Both being thoroughly demoralised, we decided to get the worktops out of the hallway.

We unwrapped them, put them where they needed to be and they almost fit perfectly. Something may have gone on with tolerances on the measurements but nothing a good shave shouldn't fix.

They look good though...

And that's where we're leaving it for today. Instead of painting until bedtime we've ordered a takeaway and are going to watch the new Wakanda film.
