I really like how seamless it looks. I had a nosey around and took a couple of other pictures...
First of all, a shot of the new dormer roof. Looks quite waterproof to me though I don't know if this is the final layer.
Secondly, I got a cross-section view of the roof structure. There's some fabric, some horizontal wooden lengths and the tiles hook over the wood and then overlap each other too. Simple but effective.
Then I headed inside while there was still some light. I poked my head through the loft hatch and instead of being met with complete darkness, there was a milky wash of light in the space. It was a bit odd seeing the frame of the old roof sitting inside the new limits of the building. Odd but also helped to realise just how much extra space there will be.
I attempted to capture this in pictures but I'm not sure it comes across. Also had to brighten up the pictures so that you can actually see stuff!
I do love a day when there's a substantial change. There was a lot of prep work to make it happen but we're waterproof again. I guess this means that the internal work can begin.
