So we started by unpacking the door and getting the instructions out. The instructions were mostly pointless and in way too small print. Very vague on how it's supposed to be assembled and which way round things go. So the first hour was spent trying to decide a plan of action.
Once we'd figured out what needed to go where, the horizontal pieces of the frame were cut to the size of the opening. The opening is nowhere near square or flat so that was easier said than done.
The top part of the frame had some other bits needing to be attached. This took some time because we had to countersink the screws because they were slightly too short. This involved 3 drill bits!
...and then the right shape...
...then some mortar was mixed up and applied to the brickwork underneath......and then the wood was positioned and hammered down to the right level.
This will give us a solid base to fix the bottom of the doorframe to. Need to let it dry overnight first though, so that's it for today.
