So my lack of rest continues but at least I have been able to get some stuff done today.
I gave the door frame a sanding down, a first coat of stain, another sanding down and a second coat of stain. That took most of the day though the radio was playing some good stuff so it wasn't all bad.
With all the staining now complete, I moved to varnishing.
So I sanded a door, varnished it, waited for it to dry, sanded again and applied a second layer of varnish. This should complete the preparation of one door. Only taken 2 weeks to get to this point!
The varnish, which is a clear matt varnish, takes a bit longer to dry than the stain but I'm hopeful to get another door done and maybe some of the frame. It just seems to go on forever but I guess if I rushed it, it would look a mess.
