My goodness has it been a long day! Not helped by me waking up at 02:30 and not being able to get back to sleep. With the help of some amazing people though, we got a lot done.
The second-born was in a very "can do" sort of mood, volunteering for just about every job. Pertinent to this post, she helped me choose some paint colours (we took an offcut of floor tile to the shop with us) and she helped paint.
The plaster being new, it had to be primed first with watered down emulsion. 3 quarters paint, 1 quarter water. The walls were very thirsty!
Tracy was also painting - she was in control of the roller brush and diligently worked her way around the room until the batch of diluted paint ran out. Got a sizeable chunk done, though didn't finish until a few moments ago (22:00).
Dad also came back, sporting a new tile saw. After what must have seemed to him like an eternity, the tile was cut to shape and, of course, fit perfectly. Some other awkward tiles were cut but once they were all done, I could get them fixed into place. They took a bit of effort to get level and secure so I hope they are still secure when the adhesive has dried out.
With the 4 of us in the kitchen, Mom did a great job looking after the third-born.
The first-born just sulked in her room because apparently 5 hours of back to back Roblox videos on YouTube isn't enough. Especially when she only watched 7 hours of them yesterday.
Time to put my feet up now!
